Vincent nodded rather absentmindedly. For a guy, he had many unexpected talents, to be sure, but among them was not being able to take care of a child. The extent of his knowledge about children was that they're cute when you don't have to deal with them yourself; otherwise, they're loud, dirty, smelly, and generally annoying. He had nothing against them, of course, and certainly nothing against Dani personally -- he just didn't know anything about the appropriate time for children to be asleep.

"Sure, hopefully she'll calm down enough. In the meantime...." As he had no experience, agreeing and letting someone else handle it seemed to be Vincent's best option, so he went with it. As he settled down on the ground, he decided that it was, indeed, quite chilly. Of course, as Violet accurately predicted, he would never admit it. The best she might have gotten out of him was a "balmy." He lay as close to the fire as he dared, and began to drift off to sleep.
